Approachable. Accepting. Non-judgemental.

Individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults in Bramhall, Stockport.

Welcome

20 years from now, if you didn’t change a thing about your life,

how would you feel?

It takes courage to accept that something in your life isn’t working for you, so credit to you for getting this far already. Experiencing difficulties is normal, but that doesn't mean that you have to struggle alone or reach a crisis point before asking for help. Your current situation and the way you feel provides the opportunity to re-evaluate what you want and what you need. Whatever is on your mind, therapy can help.

Therapy offers a supportive, safe and accepting space for you to pause, slow down and focus completely on you. The steps you take in therapy might feel small, but the changes you start to make to your life can be significant. When we are no longer caught up in events from the past or worried about the future, we have the freedom to live a fulfilling and positive life, which reflects who we really want to be.

Hello, I'm Katie. I offer one to one psychotherapy and counselling services to adults aged 18 years and over, at my private practice in Bramhall, Stockport. Face to face appointments take place in a private garden office and video appointments are offered via the online platform Zoom. I work on an open-ended basis to ensure you have the time you need to achieve your goal.

After graduating with a degree in Textile Design, I began my career in buying

and product development. Working in this industry was a great experience, but I realised the type of work just didn't fit with my personal values. Eight years later, a career change led me to work as a Volunteer Coordinator in a social housing organisation, helping individuals to improve their confidence, skills and employment prospects through volunteering. Seeing individuals flourish with support and guidance made me sure that becoming a psychotherapist would be a fulfilling and rewarding role for me.

'My wish is for your therapy to be an insightful,

positive and uplifting experience'

aBOUT ME

When I faced difficulties in my own life, I decided to get help from a therapist. The experience helped me to relax; life felt a little lighter and the future felt exciting. For me, therapy is about getting in touch with who you are and making decisions that feel right for you. By developing our self-awareness and gaining insight into our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, we can develop the freedom to change what isn't working for us.

I understand that making the decision to begin therapy can feel daunting. Even when we desire change, welcoming new information and changing our mind-set can feel daunting. It can take time to feel comfortable talking to a stranger, but there is no rush. We will work together at your pace and comfort level.

My aim is to provide a welcoming, safe and collaborative environment where

you can talk about your difficulties, without judgement. I will treat you with honesty, warmth, compassion and respect, supporting you to explore what it is that you wish to change in your life.

Areas of focus:

Stress, anxiety & excessive worry

People pleasing & perfectionism

Self-esteem & confidence

Shame and guilt

Identity, body image & eating issues

If you don't feel you fit into the categories that I've described, but you think I'd be a good fit for you, please get in touch.

It's always helpful to chat to see how I can help.
