Katie McGill Counselling & Psychotherapy
Individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults - Stockport & online

Hi,I'm
Katie
Psychotherapist - MBACP (Accr)

Whether you're working through something specific, feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to hold it all together, or just feel a bit stuck, I offer a supportive space to explore what’s going on and what might help.
I’m a BACP accredited psychotherapist based in Bramhall, Stockport, working with adults aged 18 and over. I offer individual therapy either in person or online. In-person sessions take place in a peaceful garden office - a quiet, private space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. If attending in person isn’t possible, I also offer online sessions via Microsoft Teams.

My approach is shaped by warmth, honesty, and lived experience. I know what it's like to be a client and how daunting it can feel to seek support and share your story with someone new. There’s no rush - we’ll move at your pace, exploring whatever you’re facing without pressure or judgment. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-awareness and clarity about the changes you’d like to make.

Therapy for Parents

I offer tailored support for parents and carers navigating the challenges and joys of parenthood.

Parenting can be full of joyful moments, but it can also stir up feelings we don’t always expect - anger, anxiety, rage, overwhelm, depression, burnout, resentment, fear, worry, or loss of identity. On top of all of that, we’re raising children in a time of social media and sky-high expectations, with endless advice about getting it “right,” but with very little real support. It’s no wonder so many parents feel completely overwhelmed and disconnected from what they truly need or feel.

Drawing on my experience as both a therapist and a mum, I offer a safe space to slow down, make sense of what’s been feeling hard, and reconnect with yourself - so you can feel calmer, more confident, and actually enjoy the time with your kids.
